Assistant Store Manager – Rhen’s Nest Toy Shop at Ponce City Market, Atlanta

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our shop runs smoothly and our team delivers an outstanding customer experience. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager and step in to lead when needed. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

• Store Operations : Open and close the store, handle cash and security procedures, and ensure the shop is clean, organized, and beautifully merchandised.
• Team Leadership : Motivate, coach, and develop our sales associates, assist with recruiting and training, and create schedules that align with store traffic.
• Sales & Customer Experience : Help the store meet sales goals, provide top-notch customer service, and resolve any concerns with professionalism.
• Inventory & Merchandising : Communicate restocking needs, assist with inventory counts, and keep displays fresh and inviting.
• Administration : Prepare daily reports, manage supplies, and maintain clear communication with the Store Manager and other team members.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in business or retail is a plus.
• 2+ years of boutique style or small business retail experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or key holder role.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
• Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic inventory processes.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work weekends.

Physical Requirements : You should be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
