Overview: Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a
General Maintenance Mechanic (3rd Shift ) Position Status : Full-time/40 hours per week , Rotating shift
Position defined as: Essential Personnel Position Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH)
Norfolk, Virginia
Position Summary: Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical electrical, plumbing and other items.
Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred.
Standard Working Hours : Standard Working Hours: Shift schedule: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Mission Essential Personnel.
Training provided during 2nd shift (2:30 PM- 11:00 PM) and/or 1st shift (7:00 AM- 3:30 PM). Primary responsibilities to include responding to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls.
*Qualified external candidates are eligible for $5,000 sign on bonus as part of offer package
Minimum Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License (VA or NC)
- At least 1 full years of General Maintenance experience

Please Note: The yearly Flu Vaccination is required for employment. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $25.90 - $40.31 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
