  • Brookline, MA

Job Description

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Paid time off
  • Training & development

A sweet family in Brookline is seeking a full-time, long-term nanny to care for their 15-month-old and 4-year-old daughters. The toddler is happy, smiley, and very social. The older daughter loves singing, building dioramas, and all things in nature! She is in school full-time M-F, though the role involves school drop off and pick up. The family is hoping to find a nanny who will support each child in their growth, development, and safety throughout the day.

Requirements
  • At least 21 years old
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant childcare experience
  • CPR & First Aid certified
  • Non-smoker
  • Up to date on Covid and Flu vaccinations strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience with developmental delays/disabilities is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
  • Organizing and executing feeding times, meal times, and nap times
  • Playing with children, reading, and creating an enriching environment
  • Dropping off and picking up older daughter (about 8 min walking distance away) at her school
  • Any scheduled afternoon activities
  • Communicating with parents about schedule and daytime experiences
  • Following a defined schedule for the kids and coordinating/planning relevant changes in the schedule.
  • Logging meals, naps, and diapers in a notebook for the baby
  • Bringing children to/from appointments if there is a doctors visit scheduled. This is walking as the pediatrics office is a few blocks from our house.
  • Being present for early intervention appointments for the baby at our home and implementing the exercises you learn.
  • Washing and folding children's laundry
  • Cleaning bottles and child's dishes
  • Picking up toys after activities
  • Running the vacuum as needed and wiping up the kitchen table
  • Driving will be required in a family vehicle.
About the Family

The family is looking for a nanny who is loving, warm, patient, and engaging. The older child is extremely creative and thrives on routine, consistency, and predictability. She has some anxiety about change; however, she has a well-established school routine and some lovies at home that help her feel secure. Upcoming skill goals for her include writing, drawing, and reading. The baby has a motor and developmental delay and is in early intervention. While not yet confirmed, she may have longer-term neurodevelopmental needs requiring continued therapy and accommodations. Nonetheless, she is loving, happy, excitable, and enjoys social exchanges. Therefore, the family seeks someone eager to learn alongside them and implement therapy-informed practices to create a successful environment and routine for her. Additionally, both children have food protein-induced colitis and a dairy and egg intolerance. The parents will provide all relevant food, but it is ok for the girls to be around other foods as long as they are not ingested. Dad may work from home on occasion in a separate workspace, so they appreciate someone who feels confident working independently.

The Ideal Candidate Is
  • Warm, engaging, and energetic
  • Punctual, patient, and a strong communicator
  • Proactive and professional
  • Empathetic and nurturing
  • Clean and organized
  • Experience with neuro-diverse children is a plus, but not required
  • The ability to travel with the family (both domestically and internationally) is preferred but not required
